Promoting Boules Sport to all Malaysians

Malaysian Boules Sports Federation is the national governing body responsible for managing and developing all Boules Sports disciplines in Malaysia — including Bocce, Lyonnaise, and Pétanque — as recognized within the international Boules community.

We are committed to leading the growth of Boules Sports locally and proudly representing Malaysia in regional and international arenas. Through structured development programs, athlete pathways, and collaboration with global Boules governing bodies, MBSF ensures the sport continues to flourish from grassroots to elite levels.

Our mission is to inspire participation, nurture talent, and elevate Malaysia’s visibility in the expanding world of Boules Sports.

In pétanque the objective is to score points by having boules closer to the target than the opponent after all boules have been thrown. This is achieved by throwing or rolling boules closer to the small target ball, officially called a jack but known colloquially as a cochonnet, or by hitting the opponents’ boules away from the target, while standing inside a circle with both feet on the ground.

About Our Sport

Boules, French Jeu De Boules, also called Pétanque, French ball game, similar to bowls and boccie. It is thought to have originated about 1910, but it is based on the very old French game of jeu Provençal.
