Malaysian Boules Sports Federation is honoured to host the 6th Asian Petanque Championship 2025
Malaysia will once again take centre stage in the regional petanque scene as it plays host to the Asian Petanque Championships at the Arena Petanque Kuala Lumpur from Nov 6-9.
The four-day championship will feature 141 participants from 15 countries as they compete in two events – precision shooting and triples – across men’s, women’s, and junior categories.
Among the participating nations, eight will be using the meet as a key warm-up for the Thailand SEA Games next month, namely Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Brunei.
It will be the third time Malaysia has been entrusted to stage the continental meet, following the 2018 and 2023 editions.
Malaysian Boules Sports Federation acting president Cheah Ban Cheng said it was a great honour for Malaysia to once again be given the trust to host the important tournament.
“The strong participation from across Asia, especially the SEA Games nations, will make this edition particularly exciting,” said Ban Cheng.
Leading the men’s contingent is Mohd Hafizuddin Mat Daud, who captured the bronze medal in the men’s singles at the World Championships in Rome in September.
On the women’s front, the trio of Nur Thahira Tasnim Abdul Aziz, Jasnina Jasmine Johan Johnson, and Nur Durratul Sahira Yazit will be ones to watch, having impressed with a strong showing at the Women’s Triplet World Championships in Douaisis, France, last month.
